JAM – the telephone answering business based in Borehamwood, have been awarded the title of the best medium business (25-100 employees) in Hertfordshire. The family run business established in 1977 also won the creative Innovation award, while James Millman was a finalist for the business person of the year category.
JAM were presented with the awards at the Hertfordshire Business Awards held at Knebworth House on 25th November, and hosted by by BBC Breakfast sports broadcaster and 2009 Strictly Come Dancing Winner Chris Hollins. Hundreds of Hertfordshire businesses attended and the awards were sponsored by, amongst others, BDO Accountants (overall sponsor), Roche (creative innovation award sponsor), and bizforbiz.org (medium Business award sponsor)
JAM’s James Millman, who attended the awards and has been with the company since birth said “It is an unbelievable achievement for JAM and every single person in the company to be recognised for the outstanding progress made over the past few years”
“After 33 years in business this is undoubtedly a high point for the company, and fantastic acknowledgement of all the changes in systems, structure, marketing strategies put in place since 2005”
Jane Whelan, a senior manager, also said “Wonderful news for all of our operators, who work really hard. Nice to know that our hard work is paying off and we are getting good results. Fantastic morale booster!”
Karen Nagy, also a senior manager was particularly pleased with the creative innovation award, “Thought it was a great night and very well organised. Although reluctant to change at first – the new software has proved very popular and its capabilities are increasing all the time”
Everyone at JAM is now looking towards 2011 and building on our success.
